Native American Community Academy
NACA is a charter school with a philosophy grounded in both the traditions of Native American communities and a rigorous, modern approach to college-preparatory education. NACA’s student body is diverse with many cultural and ethnic backgrounds represented, including students from more than 60 different tribes. NACA integrates culture, wellness, language, community, family, and preparation for college into each child’s education, which integrates partnership with families and the larger NACA community.
After connecting with Devore Reyes, NACA’s Indigenous Arts teacher, we joined forces to provide about 200 NACA students period supplies and to add puberty education books to NACA’s library and health center. Family Engagement Director Tirzah Waconda is now our gracious point of contact.
