Pleasant Grove Public School

Shawnee, OK

Pleasant Grove School students come from a third of the 34 federally recognized Native American tribes in Oklahoma. Pleasant Grove School is the first school we supported in Oklahoma. For news coverage of our efforts, visit News9.com. Pleasant Grove Nurse Rhiannon Webb is the go-to guide for school students. She’s the caring nurse speaking to News9 about her students’ needs and our support. Now that students have returned to their classrooms, we are routinely restocking Pleasant Grove School with our moon time bags and other period supplies.

I can’t express our gratitude enough for the Kwek Society! They have gone above and beyond to help our young female Native American students to have the supplies they need; helping these young ladies to focus more on their education with less worry about whether or not they are going to have the supplies needed to handle their menstrual cycle. The Kwek Society has not only supplied our Native American girls with pads, tampons, and educational materials they have also provided moon time bags to make transporting these much needed supplies more discreet.

The Kwek Society has not only helped our young female Native American students to gracefully transition into this new time in their lives, they are helping their families to provide these much needed expensive supplies, at school. Our students know they are taken care of, thanks to the Kwek Society, and that in itself is priceless.
