After partnering with staff and students at Coconino High School within the Flagstaff Unified School District in December 2022, we were contacted by FUSD administrators about assisting district-wide. We learned that FUSD operates 15 schools and that an estimated 3,000 of its 11,500 students likely are in need of period care items. In May 2023 we provided puberty education books and tampons; these were followed by a sizeable donation of pads from our friends at August.
More recently, we supplied 270 moon time bags and more period care items in time for the start of the new school year. Going forward, we will be seeking large donations from period care manufacturers to meet the needs of students in this very large school district.
