Meskwaki Settlement School

We started out the 2021-2022 academic year with a new school partner, in a new state for us: the Meskwaki Settlement School in Tama, Iowa. The Meskwaki Nation is the only federally recognized Indian tribe in Iowa. It operates this K-12 school, which offers youth a comprehensive, bilingual, bicultural, community-based educational environment, designed to incorporate the wisdom and beauty of the Meskwaki Culture with the knowledge of our modern technological society. We are providing our period supplies, including moon time bag and puberty education books, to about 75 upper level students.
