Onamia Public Schools
Onamia, Minnesota
K-12 Indian Education Coordinator Christina Clitso-Nayquonabe jumped on our offer to furnish period care, including our moon time bags and books, to support 250 students at risk of period poverty attending the four schools in her school district. The school district is located 10 minutes from the land-base for the Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe in Central Minnesota. The majority of its students are Indigenous. We love OPS’ stated commitment to “providing our students powerful educational experiences through personalized learning, high quality educators, and a comprehensive curriculum at every level.” We started our partnership with OPS– our first, so far, in Minnesota — in November 2023.
